Ganduje Denies Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that he has defected to the New Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the claims as false, mischievous and politically motivated.

In a statement issued by his Chief of Staff and former Kano State Commissioner for Information, Comrade Muhammad Garba, Ganduje reaffirmed his commitment to the APC, insisting that he has never considered leaving the ruling party.

The former Kano State governor said he is not a politician who moves from one political party to another for personal gain, stating that he is "not a vulture flying from one tree to another."

According to the statement, the posters alleging his defection were deliberately created to mislead the public, sow confusion among APC members and supporters, and fuel unnecessary political speculation.

Ganduje maintained that it was both false and illogical to suggest that he had joined the NDC, stressing that the APC remains Nigeria's largest and most formidable political party under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He alleged that the individuals behind the fake posters had been identified and warned that legal action would be taken against them unless they immediately withdrew the defamatory materials and ceased further circulation.

The former APC National Chairman urged party members, supporters and the general public to disregard the posters, insisting that they do not reflect his political position or intentions.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to working with President Tinubu and the leadership of the APC to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.

Ganduje further advised the public to rely only on official statements from him and the appropriate organs of the APC regarding his political activities.
