ISAN Condemns Killing of Islamiyya Teacher in Kaduna, Demands Justice
Kaduna, Nigeria – June 2026
The Islamiyya Schools Association of Nigeria (ISAN) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of an innocent Islamiyya teacher in Kaduna State, describing the act as barbaric, unlawful, and contrary to the teachings of Islam.
In a public statement released on Tuesday, the association expressed deep concern over the incident and called on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to immediately arrest and prosecute all individuals involved in the killing.
According to ISAN, the victim was an innocent teacher whose death has sparked outrage among members of the Islamic education community and the wider public. The association stressed that taking the law into one's own hands through mob action or jungle justice is both illegal and un-Islamic.
“Jungle justice is un-Islamic and illegal. We demand justice and protection for all Islamiyya teachers,” the statement read.
The association emphasized that the safety of teachers and educators must be guaranteed at all times, noting that teachers play a critical role in shaping future generations and strengthening society.
ISAN further urged security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident, identify all perpetrators, and ensure that they are brought to justice without delay. The group also called for public prosecution of those responsible as a deterrent against similar acts in the future.
Among its key demands, the association called on authorities to:
Fish out all those involved in the killing without delay;
Conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident;
Prosecute all suspects in accordance with the law;
Strengthen protection for Islamiyya teachers and other educators across Kaduna State and beyond.
Quoting the Holy Qur'an (5:8), ISAN reminded the public of Islam's commitment to justice, stating:
“And do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is closer to righteousness.”
The association concluded by calling on government authorities, community leaders, religious organizations, and civil society groups to work together to prevent mob violence and ensure that justice prevails.
ISAN reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of teachers and the promotion of justice, accountability, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that the future of the Ummah depends on safeguarding those who dedicate their lives to education.
“Our Teachers, Our Future, Our Ummah,” the statement concluded.
