Lagos, Nigeria— The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that the 2027 presidential election will be a contest primarily between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking on the evolving political landscape ahead of the next general election, Ayodele said NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi is not currently positioned to emerge as a major contender.
According to the cleric, the political momentum and structures needed to win the presidency in 2027 appear to favour Tinubu and Atiku, whom he described as the dominant figures likely to shape the electoral contest.
Ayodele noted that while Obi continues to enjoy significant support, especially among young voters, the former Anambra governor faces considerable political hurdles that could limit his chances of victory.
“The 2027 election is just between Atiku and Tinubu. Peter Obi is not there; he is just wasting his time,” Ayodele was quoted as saying.
The prophecy has already sparked debate among political observers and supporters of the various parties. Many argue that political dynamics ahead of 2027 remain fluid and could change significantly before campaigns officially begin.
Political analysts note that Nigeria’s political environment is highly unpredictable. Alliances, party realignments, and emerging national issues could reshape the contest in the coming years.
The statement adds to a series of political predictions regularly issued by Primate Ayodele, whose forecasts on national and electoral matters often attract widespread public attention and reactions.
