Zulum Appoints Acting Chief of Staff, Assigns Portfolios to 10 New Commissioners in Borno
MAIDUGURI — Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has appointed Engr. Dr. Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe as Acting Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Mallumbe was previously Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor.
The governor also approved postings and portfolios for 10 newly sworn-in commissioners. According to the statement from the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Bukar Tijani, the changes are intended to strengthen governance and accelerate implementation of the administration’s 25-year Development Plan and 10-year Strategic Transformation Initiatives.
The commissioners and their portfolios are:
1. Barr. Hauwa Abubakar– Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice
2. Hon. Bukar Mustapha Dalatu – Commissioner for Budget and Planning
3. Hon. Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe – Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation
4. Hon. Umar Lawan Dalorima– Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development
5. Prof. Baba Mallam Gana – Commissioner for Health and Human Services
6. Prof. Usman A. Tar – Commissioner for Information and Internal Security
7. Hon. Sugun Mai Mele– Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs
8. Hon. Aliyu Mohammed Lawan Buba – Commissioner for Transport and Energy
9. Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo– Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development
10. Hon. Saina Buba– Commissioner for Youths, Sports, and Poverty Alleviation
The statement said all commissioners are expected to assume duties in their ministries with immediate effect.
