Nigeria’s Technical Aid Corps Chief Praises Workers, Urges Resilience on May Day
ABUJA, May 1, 2026— The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Yusuf Buba Yakub, on Friday hailed Nigerian workers for their contributions to national development and international cooperation as the country marked International Workers’ Day.
In a statement issued to commemorate the annual event, Yakub praised the dedication of Nigerian workers, with particular recognition for NTAC staff and volunteers serving in partner countries under Nigeria’s technical assistance programme.
He said the corps’ role in advancing South-South cooperation was driven by the professionalism and commitment of its personnel, whose work helps project Nigeria’s image positively abroad while fostering mutual development and goodwill.
“Your efforts not only strengthen our global presence but also deepen understanding and cooperation among nations,” he said.
Yakub described NTAC volunteers as “true ambassadors” of Nigeria’s values, noting that their contributions remain critical to sustaining partnerships and promoting development across participating countries.
He urged workers to remain resilient and innovative amid global challenges, stressing the importance of continued dedication to national growth and international collaboration.
Nigeria marks Workers’ Day annually on May 1, alongside countries worldwide, in recognition of labour’s role in economic and social development.
