MSSN Niger Holds 2026 Sisters’ Congregation, Emphasises Skills Development and Faith
Held from April 30 to May 3 at Faith City Legacy Academy of Learning in Mokwa, the four-day event brought together Muslim sisters from various councils and institutions under the theme “Empowered by Skills, Guided by Faith.”
According to a communiqué issued at the end of the programme, the gathering focused on spiritual development, skill acquisition, and strengthening unity among participants. Activities included daily prayers, Qur’an and Hadith study sessions, lectures, and hands-on vocational training in areas such as gum making, digital design, and social media content creation.
Key sessions addressed the integration of faith and skills, marital preparation, digital literacy, mobile photography, video editing, purification in Islam, and contemporary challenges facing Muslim women.
The congregation observed a growing need for young Muslim women to combine religious knowledge with modern skills, particularly in navigating digital spaces and preparing for family life. It stressed that practical empowerment is essential for self-reliance and meaningful contribution to society.
Participants resolved to uphold Islamic teachings, pursue continuous learning, and engage actively in community development. They also called on parents, MSSN leadership, and stakeholders to expand access to skill-based and spiritually enriching programmes.
Among its recommendations, the group urged the establishment of structured digital training initiatives, mentorship programmes, and digital hubs to enhance collaboration and innovation among Muslim sisters. It also emphasised responsible and ethical use of social media in line with Islamic values.
The communiqué concluded with appreciation to organisers, facilitators, and participants, noting that the event ended with renewed commitment to faith, personal development, and positive societal impact.
