Major General Rabe Abubakar, Wife Abducted on Katsina Road
KATSINA, Nigeria – May 30, 2026— Former Director of Defence Information, Major General Rabe Abubakar, and his wife were abducted on Saturday morning along the Matazu axis in Katsina State while traveling to a wedding.
According to accounts from the scene, the couple was traveling in a red Peugeot 504 when gunmen intercepted them around 10:30 a.m. The driver reportedly escaped with a gunshot wound. Photographs from Matazu police headquarters show the vehicle riddled with bullets and now parked at the station.
Police authorities in Katsina State have yet to issue an official statement on the incident. The identities of the abductors and the current whereabouts of the retired general and his wife remain unknown as of press time.
