Call for Arrest of Kaduna Gov’s Political Adviser Over Alleged Confession of Igabi LGA Election Result Manipulation

KADUNA— A video of Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Mamadi, Senior Political Adviser to Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani, allegedly boasting about repeatedly writing election results for Igabi Local Government Area has sparked outrage, with citizens demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of Mamadi and his allies.

In the viral clip, Mamadi, while addressing APC stakeholders from Igabi LGA who paid him a Sallah homage, openly claimed that he and others have “several times written election results” in the council area. He boasted about the act as proof of the party’s capacity to deliver victory for the APC and President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

“Me yasa mutane suke fitowa ƙarara, da gadara, suke alfahari da aikata laifi, ba tare da shakka ba?” a concerned citizen wrote in reaction to the video. Translation: “Why do people now come out boldly and shamelessly, boasting about committing crimes without fear?”

Allegations Made in the Video

According to witnesses and the citizen who posted the clip, Mamadi told the gathering:

1. That election results in Igabi LGA are routinely written/fabricated rather than collated from polling units.

2. That the act is done openly and repeatedly “sau da yawa” — several times.

3. That he was proud of the arrangement because it guarantees APC’s electoral success ahead of 2027.

The full statement by Mamadi was reportedly posted in the comment section of the video by the original poster, who said it “is enough to convince any observer that there is serious work to be done in this country.”

Public Reaction: “Enough is Enough”

The video has triggered widespread condemnation across social media and in Kaduna. Many citizens described Mamadi’s confession as a direct assault on Nigeria’s democracy and called on security agencies to act swiftly.

“Yanzu saboda Allah haka shugabanci ya koma kenan?” the post asked. Translation: “For God’s sake, is this what governance has turned into?”

Commenters are demanding that:

1. Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Mamadi be arrested immediately for allegedly confessing to electoral fraud.

2. His allies mentioned in the video be investigated and prosecuted.

3. INEC and security agencies launch a full probe into past elections in Igabi LGA and nullify any results proven to have been manipulated.

Electoral fraud, including falsification of results, is an offense under Section 123 of the Electoral Act 2022 and attracts penalties including imprisonment.

Calls for Accountability

Civil society groups and concerned citizens say the video, if verified, exposes the kind of impunity that undermines public trust in elections. They argue that no government official should be above the law, regardless of political affiliation.

As of press time, neither Governor Uba Sani’s office nor Hon. Mamadi had issued an official response to the allegations.

The Kaduna State Police Command and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, are yet to comment on whether investigations have commenced.

The video remains widely circulated online, with many Nigerians insisting: “The full statement in the comments is enough evidence. Let the law take its course.”
