Alhaji Muntari Lawal Kofar Soro Turbaned as Sodangin Katsina

 

KATSINA— Alhaji Muntari Lawal Kofar Soro has been conferred with the traditional title of Sodangin Katsina by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman CFR.

The turbaning ceremony recognized Kofar Soro’s years of public service and his contributions to the Katsina Emirate. He rose through the ranks of the civil service to its highest levels, earning a reputation for administrative competence, fairness, and accountability.

Officials and community members described him as an administrator known for managing people and resources with prudence. During his career, he was noted for an open-door policy and for mentoring younger colleagues.

The Emirate’s decision to confer the title was said to reflect its tradition of recognizing merit and service to society. Supporters cited a post-retirement reception hosted by over 100 youths as evidence of the respect he commands.

As Sodangin Katsina, Kofar Soro is expected to carry out the responsibilities of the title in line with the Emirate’s traditions. Family, associates, and residents of Katsina attended the ceremony.

The titleholders and guests offered prayers for wisdom and strength in the discharge of his new responsibilities.
