In another key decision, the committee authorized the establishment of caretaker committees at the zonal, state, local government, and ward levels. The caretaker structures are expected to operate for a period of 12 months.

The meeting further addressed the situation surrounding former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, with the NEC describing him as a “prisoner of conscience” and calling for his immediate release.

The resolutions are expected to shape the party’s preparations for forthcoming elections and its ongoing organizational restructuring efforts nationwide.

The statement was signed by Bolaji Abdullahi, who reaffirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening its internal democratic processes and expanding its political structures across the country.
