MSSN Issues Strong Warning to Cleric Over Alleged Blasphemous Remarks.
The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Unit, has issued a stern warning to Pastor Emmanuel Sunday Garba over alleged statements considered offensive to the Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the group condemned what it described as “reprehensible and sacrilegious utterances” attributed to the cleric, stating that such remarks constitute a direct affront to the religious beliefs of Muslims.
MSSN argued that the statements go beyond the limits of free expression and amount to provocation capable of inciting unrest. The organization warned that similar incidents in Nigeria’s history have triggered violence and loss of lives, stressing the need to avoid actions that could reignite religious tensions.
The group called on Garba to immediately retract the alleged statements and issue an unreserved public apology to the Muslim community. It cautioned that failure to do so could further heighten public anger and deepen divisions.
MSSN also urged security agencies to intervene promptly, emphasizing the importance of holding individuals accountable for actions that could threaten public peace and national unity.
Reaffirming its commitment to peaceful coexistence, the organization noted that respect for religious figures remains essential in maintaining harmony in Nigeria’s diverse society.
The statement was signed by MSSN FCT Area Unit leadership, including its president, secretary general, and public relations officer.
