Despite hitches, ADC proceeds with convention plans

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed its commitment to proceed with its scheduled national convention, despite facing a series of logistical and administrative challenges in the lead-up to the event.
Party officials acknowledged that preparations have encountered “unexpected hitches,” ranging from venue concerns to regulatory issues. However, ADC leadership insisted that these obstacles would not derail the convention, describing it as a critical step in strengthening the party’s internal structure and democratic processes.
In a statement issued ahead of the gathering, the party emphasized its determination to ensure a smooth and successful convention, noting that contingency measures had been put in place to address emerging concerns.
“The convention remains on course,” a party spokesperson said, adding that stakeholders and delegates across the country have been duly informed of updated arrangements where necessary.
The ADC convention is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates, and observers from across Nigeria, with key agenda items including leadership decisions, policy discussions, and strategies ahead of future elections.
Observers say the party’s insistence on moving forward despite challenges signals its resolve to maintain momentum and unity within its ranks.
